Threshold Photographs

Max Neufeldt’s mixed-media collages are an exploration of "expanded memory." By integrating vintage family snapshots, thrift-store finds, and his own photography, Neufeldt used pen, ink, and watercolor to extend the world beyond the camera's original frame. These works blur the line between historical record and artistic imagination, often featuring original handwriting from his mother’s scrapbooks that grounds the surreal, hand-drawn extensions in personal history.
